Artist's Corner Week 21:MBLAQ

The Artist’s Corner is a weekly short blog post introducing some group from the Asian music scene. Why Asian? Because hearing too much Ibiza-dance and different mixes of the words “tits”, “ass”, “yeah!”, and “fuck” gets REALLY stale after a while =). Besides, where’s the proper choreography nowadays? The post’s won’t be long, just something I recommend you give it a try if you’re curious or otherwise interested.
Without further ado, I present to you, Artist’s corner for Week 21- MBLAQ!

MBLAQ (pronounced, am-black, lol) is a Korean group formed by famous Korean performer Rain’s label J. Tune Entertainment. The group consists of Seung Ho, G.O, Lee Joon, Cheon Doong (who is the younger brother of 2NE1 vocalist Sandara Park), and Mir. After debuting in the Legend of Rainism concert, they released their first single “Oh Yeah” on October 12th. The song topped charts around Korea, and later their album Just BLAQ (actually, they’re not, but oh well korenglish ftw) was released on October 14th. After a brek, on may 19th of this year, the group released the album “Y”.

They’re a more dance-oriented group, as expected of Rain’s protégés: you won’t hear anything mind-blowing, though some of their ballads such as “Last Love” shine through the usual bass-and-synth-filled club tracks.

I posted a concert version of “Y” yesterday, but a few MVs are presented below, with subtitles:
